Saturday Afternoon is
our regular session for 9 – 12 year olds – no 8 and under.
Sunday AM is for 13 and
over and distance events for 8 and under.
Sunday mid-day is for 9
– 12 year olds. We’ll be done well before Superbowl Parties!
We will have volunteer
sign up sheets up soon. We will need every family with a swimmer in the meet to
volunteer for 2 sessions, those with out swimmers in the meet; we will also
need your help at one session. We are trying to increase our meet’s size and we
can use your help!
Specific information is
available on the Meet Page of our BASH website!
PREPERATION FOR
TEDDY BEAR On Monday, January 21 we are going to
set up the team’s timing system in the Main Pool and make sure everything is
running properly. We will need some help – 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. This is Martin
Luther King Jr. Holiday and we hope a few parents will be able to help. Contact
Coach Bill if you are available to help.
We handle bad weather in the following manor –
1)
It is always first your decision as to your ability
to drive in bad road conditions.
2)
Secondly, we must yield to the YMCA’s policies – they put
closing on the radio.
3)
Swim team tries to make a decision about practice
cancellations at least 1 hour before a practice might begin.
4)
We will send out an email and post on our website as soon as
we know and let the YMCA’s front desk know.
5)
We will not call all 100 families about cancellations.
6)
If you call the Y, you must ask which training groups are
cancelled. We sometimes cancel some groups and BUT not all groups. Ask about
your swimmers’ specific group.
7)
Bad weather in the morning with a chance to clear roads by
afternoon practice usually results in having afternoon practices.
8)
Questions should be directed to Coach Bill, but first
referred to #1 above!

Thought
for the Week At the Miami Meet this past weekend,
a couple of the coaches were talking and one mentioned that they read an
article about former athletes. The question was asked on a survey –
“What did
you dislike about playing sports?” One
answer lead – “The ride home with my parent(s)”
Think about
it! Why would the ride home be one thing they disliked the most?
