TEDDY BEAR SWIM MEET            February 1-3

>>Thanks to all who help at the meet. This was my 19th Teddy Bear meet at BASH. Some have been good, some bad. This one was GOOD. With our change of schedule for the third year, our sessions were short and well run, our parents stepped up to help, our swimmers swam well and our visitors were happy! We had a lot of nice comments about our meet as other teams left the building. Clean up after the meet was much better, more parents stayed and helped, thus getting everyone home sooner!

>>>We were down over 100 swimmers from last year, Our gym heater was a big hit. Thanks to Kermit Warner for getting the scoreboard to give Event and Heat information, a big hit!

>>>Also, we had a few parents spend lots of time this weekend at the meet working!!!  Bob Krone our chief official, Barry Stedman our meet director, Robin Smith, our Assistant Meet Director, Susan Kane our concessionaire, Kumar our sound technician, Mike Cappel, our results director. Thanks to all the parents and older swimmers who helped. Thanks to the families who have older swimmers only on our team and came out to help with our meet, their help was important. Thanks to Marty Prescott for officiating again and again!

>>>As usual, please send on any complaints, suggestions or compliments, we are always trying to make our meets better. New scoreboards helped, but we are always looking for ideas.
>> Thanks to all the parents who brought food or drinks to the meet, our snack bar was very profitable this time, due again to your help.

>>Congratulations to BASH Swimmers who won or were in top three in High Point Awards

Many other BASH swimmers were in the top 10 in scoring. Many best times were earned. We updated the website with everyone’s time before the Teddy Bear meet, and now will update them again soon.

QUESTION SESSION

If you do not understand about the Championships or do not know what events your swimmer has for A’s or AA’s or Zone we will have 2 sessions with Coach Bill-

1)      next Wednesday, Feb 13th in Ferris Building 5:30 – 5:45 PM or so

2)      next Thursday, Feb 14th in the Main Building 6:30 –6:45 PM or so

OTHER NOTES ON CHAMPIONSHIPS

>>At each of the meets, we must supply volunteers to work. Each team in the meet supply workers based on upon their numbers – we usually supply about 5 – 7 volunteers per session at each meet. We will need each family to volunteer at least once at one of the meet.

>>Any official that want to work at the Starter or Referee level for a meet, please let Coach Bill know as soon as possible so he can turn in your name. We will need to supply other officials, but the meets want to line up these officials early!

>>We ask all swimmers to try and swim at their highest level of Championships.

We like to go for our best team effort at the League Championships – it is the closest, it has finials at night and it is in a fast swimming pool.

>>We hope all swimmers who make Nationals or Zone Meet will attend their highest-level meet. Speak with your coach about these meets. This year we are a co-host of Zones, so we will have to supply MANYD volunteers for this meet at Cleveland State University.

LOST GIRLS’ SUIT SIZE 30   If you lost your team suit at Miami University, Coach Robin has it.
