>>>Level 1 is called the Sectional Championships
(old name was As) requirements is to swim in 3 Y meets and swim only events
that you have a time in and a time that is slower than the next level
qualifying time (League or AA times). We swim at ME Lyons YMCA on February 29

or more AA times for 9 and over or 4 AA times for 8 & under you cannot swim

>>>Level 2 is called the League Championships
(old name AAs) you must swim in 3 Y meets, and have the qualifying times for
the meet. We can go back and use times from YMCA Championship Meets to March
2007. We must prove all times entered into the meet. High School times are
usable if we have a copy of the results! The meet is at Miami University, March

a League time at the Sectionals Championships you can use those times for this
meet.
>>Level 3 is called the Zone Championships you

years League Championship for times. The meet is at Cleveland State
University. Entries sign-up by Monday, March 3rd, the meet is March
14-15-15, 2008. We can use times from the League Championships for this meet.

>>Level 4 is called Nationals and you must be 12 by
the first day of the meet, have your 3 Y meets and a Championship meet plus the
qualifying times. This meet is in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from April 1-4.
OTHER NOTES ON CHAMPIONSHIPS
>>At each of the meets, we must supply volunteers to
work. Each team in the meet supply workers based on upon their numbers we
usually supply about 5 7 volunteers per session at each meet. We will need
each family to volunteer at least once at one of the meet.
>>Any official that want to work at the Starter or
Referee level for a meet, please let Coach Bill know as soon as possible so he
can turn in your name. We will need to supply other officials, but the meets
want to line up these officials early!
>>We ask all swimmers to try and swim at their highest
level of Championships.
We like to go for our best team effort at the League
Championships it is the closest, it has finials at night and it is in a fast
swimming pool.
>>We hope all swimmers who make Nationals or Zone Meet
will attend their highest-level meet. Speak with your coach about these meets.
This year we are a co-host of Zones, so we will have to supply MANY volunteers
for this meet at Cleveland State University.
You can also call the front
desk about 1 hour before practice, BUT ask for your specific practice group,
not just the swim team! But as always, it is your decision as to weather or not
to drive in bad weather!

In an attempt to have great security and control in the
Ferris Building, the YMCA has installed a lock and key pad entry system on the
2nd entry door in Ferris. This will start to be used when the front
desk is not staffed
Any week day morning practices for Elite Group, from 3 5
PM Monday Thursday, and after 3 PM 9 PM on Fridays. The code is for swim
team only, therefore do not give it out to others! The code to start is 6373, the pad is to the right
of the 2nd door in Ferris, a red light on the pad changed to green
when the proper code is entered on to the pad. The door then clicks and will
open.
