UPCOMING
DATES YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
Novice meet at BASH – March 14,
Friday, warm up at 6 PM
This is the time of the year the YMCA embarks on their
annual asking for donations to the YMCA’s scholarship program. This year it is
called “Strong Kids Campaign”.
The YMCA helps needy kids and families enjoy the Y and its
programs. We, the swim team, have a few families that take advantages of these
scholarships and funds.
Each year, I ask each swim team family to help with this
campaign and make a pledge. We hope to have all of our families pledge but
usually we get about 60 – 70% or so to pledge. We hope everyone can help, a
little or a lot.
Last week was the Kick Off Week and hope you’ll consider making
your pledge this week.
You
can stop at the Y and get a form. Or just email me back, with your pledge and I
can make out a pledge card for you.
I will also put this form on our website if you would like
to download them from there.
We have a few hotel rooms for Championships. Please contact
Coach Bill via email immediately. After our block of rooms is full, he’ll send
in a rooming list then you will have to call the hotel and give them your
credit card. DO not call either hotel directly till after Coach Bill sends in
the rooming lists.
Hilton Garden Inn, Downtown Cleveland, about 1 mile form
Pool
$99 per night plus tax, BUT we will pay for your room is you
work at Zone.
Each session at Zones that you work, we’ll cover a ½ of a
night. If 2 parents work one
Session, you’ll cover 1 night. IF you work over, then you’ll
get $50 per session credit to
Your fund raising account for the Swim Team.
As we get to the end of the season, many of the swimmers
will be getting out of practice a bit earlier as they swim a little less just
before Championships. Please have your swimmers check with their coaches as to
when they will be getting out early from practice.
If you go to our YMCA’s
league website, all of the YMCA swim meets information and results are
available. So if you need more information, check it out –
