BLUE ASH YMCA SWIM TEAM
Update - March 19, 2008
Our league meet finally finished last Tuesday at Countryside YMCA; we were 6th out of 23 teams. Our 11-12 Boys, who scored 414 of our 1352 points, leaded us and we also had 50% improvement in our times at the meet. Stephanie Conklin won the 200 Breast, Amanda Rom was 3rd in the same race, Emma Shaw was 2nd in the 11-12 Girls 100 Fly with Katie Kruspe 4th in the same race, and Kinsey Kowalski was 3rd in the 15-18 Girls 50 Free. Also, the 11 12 Boys were 2nd in the 200 Free Relay.
We were 22nd out of 89 teams at the Zone meet, scoring 272 points, again being lead by our 11-12 boys who scored 195 points and were 4th in their age group! Peter Schildknecht was 3rd in the Senior 200 Breast, Charlie Fry was 4th in the 11-12 100 Back, Grant Crawford was 5th in the 200 Free for 11-12 boys, Richard Chen was 5th in the 50 Free for 11-12 boys, and Brendan Girten was 6th in the 100 Back.
We co-hosted the Zone Meet with Powel Crosley YMCA and all went well, we had a few behind the scenes problems that we took care of, but for the most part, we had nothing but thank you and congratulations on a great meet from many other coaches teams and parents. Special big thanks to the 18 BASH families who helped us run our 1/2 of the meet
Mary and Bill Fischer For running our Zone Tee-Shirts sales table, Mary started months ago organizing this huge effort of selling almost 900 tee shirts and hoodies!
Bob Harris for riding with Coach Bill and working every session of the meet in admissions plus running the timing systems for hours for others to get breaks.
BASH senior boys for coming early each session and checking in all of the swimmers.
Barry and Gareth Stedman for coming up and working the meet, just to work the meet for the team.
The Glaser clan yes the Clan, they recruited their Cleveland relatives to come and help at the meet, thus giving us 4 extra bodies to work!
The Girten Family Diana and Regan work all meet and Chris the afternoons organizing the awards and any thing else we needed done!
We have try out dates for new swimmers that are listed on our website, please past this information on to your friends and neighbors.
Our re-start is Monday, April 14 on our winter practice schedule. We are in the process of making any swimmers group changes and well let you know next week on these changes. There is a $30 registration fee for all BASH swimmers (who paid in full this winter) to swim this spring-summer. Forms to be on the website next week.
Coach Evan is hosting 4 stroke clinics over the next few weeks; we are limiting these to 8 swimmers each. Please email Coach Evan at Herdeman@gmail.com to get a spot! These are designed for swimmers in the Adv Age or Senior Groups. Please bring $2 cash to each clinic and give it to Coach Evan.
Please sign up for only one clinic at first so everyone can get a chance to participate.
