Swim team screening Wednesday, May 5th for Elite and Senior Groups

Mark Daasch, Physical Therapist for NovaCare, will be at practice on Wed. May 5th to screen all swim team members for potential factors that contribute to shoulder and upper back pain in adolescent swimmers.   This is part of an ongoing research project that began in 2004.   The data obtained from the first 3 years will be included in an upcoming research paper about shoulder pain in competitive swimmers ages 10-18.  The measurements will be taken during swim practice and take about 5 minutes per swimmer and is at no cost.   Information obtained will assist the coaching staff in modifying the dryland program to prevent injuries and produce better swimmers. He will then be back and re-test in a few months, checking on any problems along with progress in improvements. There is a consent form for each swimmers and will be sent home later this week. Senior Group will come in earlier on May 5th.  Any questions may be directed to the Coaches or to Mark.   He looks forward to working with your team this year.   His phone is 513-671-6362 or mdaasch@hq.novacare.com
